Eve teasing in Dhaka city and possible solutions

Eve teasing in Dhaka usually occurs in public places, streets and public transport. Dhaka city eve teasing is a sexual harassment of women by men. It is a form of sexual aggression. Sexual harassment by strangers with any type of harassment.When a girl became a victim of eve teasing we cannot imagine how much she was hurt as she killed herself.There has been contrasting school of thoughts about incidents of eve teasing. Some traditionalist blames it on females, saying that, they irritate the culprits by wearing western dresses.
It is hard to prove that, conservatively dressed women have not gone through eve teasing. A large amount of women are facing this threat. Women find themselves vulnerable of eve teasing everywhere.

Mode of Eve Teasing In Dhaka:

An offensive watch, a sly  whistle, a well-timed clap, an un warranted knock, seemingly casual touch, lusting look at a helpless time, suggestive songs with closed lips, slang comments, cheap gestures the display of an indecent video, passing by in slow moving cars blasting loud music with many eyes. All these are typical examples of eve teasing.

Recently eve teasing has been growing rapidly throughout the country. The term is now very common to the younger generations. Eve teasing is a threat that has grown up alarming proportions. Eve teasing is a huge issue in many metropolitan cities of Bangladesh. It is a common raising situation in Bangladesh. The capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka city leads other cities when it comes to crime against women. Like any other cities in Bangladesh, eve teasing occurs a great percentage in Dhaka city. Everyday some women are facing eve teasing in Dhaka city. Savage people occur in Dhaka city than rural area. It is going on frequently in Dhaka city. There are many reasons which create a great number of eve teasing in Dhaka city than other cities. Most of the reputed educational institutions situated in Dhaka. Because of achieving the higher and qualified education many students come to Dhaka. 

This reason they are far from their family. In this case some students are going to dogs touching of other bad friends. As a result they are motivated to doing eve teasing. Because of globalization, our culture turns into western culturerapidly. By seeing this western culture our girls are highly interested in western culture. So they are wearing short dresses which create sex appeal of our young generations. It creates eve teasing in Dhaka city. Highly used of transport system of Dhaka city is bus. Different people are using this transport system. Some indecent people take advantage of doing eve teasing in this public place. So many girls in Dhaka city are facing this problem.

Eve teasing is a complex social problem. Every day women are facing this problem. To weed out this social curse we can follow under these remedies.

 

Remedies of Eve Teasing In Dhaka:

1.Social agents like family, peer groups, educational institutions and mass media must be amended.

2.Religious and moral education should be ensured.

3.Those who are frustrated/drug addicted should be corrected under probation center.

4.Proper socialization should be ensured.

5.Structural problems as mentioned before should be eliminated.

Dilemma of social system should be removed but a unique one be continued. It is guardian’s duty to make their children behave in an appropriate way and take necessary actions whenever needed. Awareness is needed of hour and government should take necessary step to remove this social curse. The threat of eve teasing can only be overcome by empowering women to fight back. To remove this evil, strictlaws are also needed. Women need to be cautionwhile stepping on the street.
